He completed his primary education in Isfahan and attended high school in Tehran at Razi High School, a school designated for French-speaking students.<\/span><br \/><strong><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">University and Specialty Education<\/span><\/strong><\/div><div class=\"KTwPFW YjkWXv\"><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">In 1955, he traveled to Paris to pursue medical studies, where he completed one year of pre-university training, six years of general medical education, four years of pediatric specialty training, and two years of subspecialty training in infectious diseases at Claude Bernard Hospital in Paris. He successfully passed two advanced French medical examinations (Externat de Paris and the Nanterre Medical Center examination).<\/span><br \/><strong><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Return to Iran and Military Service<\/span><\/strong><\/div><div class=\"KTwPFW YjkWXv\"><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">In 1969, after completing his education, he returned to Iran and completed 13 weeks of military training, followed by two years of service as Head of the Pediatrics Department at Railway Hospital No. 2.<\/span><br \/><strong><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Academic Activities<\/span><\/strong><\/div><div class=\"KTwPFW YjkWXv\"><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">In 1971, he joined the University of Tehran and began working at Imam Khomeini Hospital (formerly the 1,000-bed hospital). At the request of Shahid Beheshti University (formerly the National University), he transferred there and served as an associate professor. He was promoted to full professor in 1986 and retired in 2004 at the age of 70.<\/span><br \/><strong><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Executive and Scientific Positions<\/span><\/strong><\/div><div class=\"KTwPFW YjkWXv\"><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Head of Pediatrics and Neonatology Departments at Jorjani and Imam Hossein Hospitals (1986\u20131991)<\/span><br \/><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Head of the Pediatrics Department, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (22 years)<\/span><br \/><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Distinguished Professor of the University (1987 and 1988)<\/span><br \/><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Named National Exemplary Physician (2004 and 2019)<\/span><br \/><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">The Pediatrics Ward of Imam Hossein Hospital was named in his honor in 2013<\/span><br \/><strong><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Choice of Pediatrics Specialty<\/span><\/strong><\/div><div class=\"KTwPFW YjkWXv\"><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">After consulting with colleagues and assessing the medical needs of the country, he chose pediatrics due to the shortage of pediatricians and the high prevalence of infectious diseases in children.<\/span><br \/><strong><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Teaching Philosophy and Student Training<\/span><\/strong><\/div><div class=\"KTwPFW YjkWXv\"><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">He emphasized clinical education and giving students responsibility for patient follow-up. He used diverse scientific resources (not only classical textbooks) and held Q&amp;A sessions for better feedback. He conducted 96 educational workshops on various pediatric topics, including respiratory infections, gastrointestinal disorders, neonatal resuscitation, and the management of sick children.<\/span><br \/><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Scientific and International Contributions<\/span><br \/><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Delivered 73 papers and lectures in Iran and abroad<\/span><br \/><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Supervised 40 specialty and non-specialty theses<\/span><br \/><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Received 35 commendations from academic institutions<\/span><br \/><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Participated in WHO training courses on acute respiratory infections (Alexandria, Egypt)<\/span><br \/><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Participated in WHO training on diarrheal disease control (Bangladesh and Isfahan)<\/span><br \/><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Attended the second WHO Global Program on Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) in Morocco<\/span><br \/><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Membership in Specialist Committees<\/span><br \/><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Member of committees on immunization, diarrheal diseases, acute respiratory infections, IMCI, and pediatric infectious diseases<\/span><br \/><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Member of the National Pediatrics Board Examination Committee<\/span><br \/><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Member of committees on neonatal mortality reduction and promotion of breastfeeding<\/span><br \/><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Member of the scientific committees on tuberculosis and cancer registry at the university<\/span><br \/><strong><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Message to Young Physicians<\/span><\/strong><br \/><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cMedicine is love; you must sacrifice and never stop learning. The path of medicine is long, winding, and challenging. Once you choose it and take your first steps, you must follow it to the end of your life, for it has no endpoint. Therefore, you must be passionate to walk this path. Medicine is not merely a profession, but a lifetime of sacrifice and service.\u201d<\/span><br \/><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">Professor Momenzadeh, with the motto \u201cWhat comes from the heart will touch the heart,\u201d always emphasized compassion and humility in medicine.<\/span><br \/><span class=\"p\" dir=\"ltr\">A figure who combined love for children and dedication to teaching with humility, Professor Momenzadeh not only saved countless lives but also trained a generation of committed physicians.
