The Iranian Society of Pediatricians was established in 1956 (1335 in the Persian calendar) through the efforts of Professor Mohammad Gharib, alongside Dr. Hassan Ahari, Dr. Esfandiar Badaghi, Dr. Kazem Paya, Dr. Pirnia, Dr. Gholamreza Khatami, Dr. Reza Moazami, Dr. Moeinfar, and Dr. Nekoufar.
